From Studio to Screen: How I Made Online Workouts My New Normal

When I first moved my fitness business online during Covid, I wasn’t sure how it would work out — but it soon became clear that online workouts were here to stay. Over time, they’ve become part of my daily routine, my lifestyle, and my non-negotiable habit. The secret? Consistency. It’s not about how hard you go once in a while — it’s about showing up, doing the basics right, and repeating that day after day. Consistency always beats intensity!

One of the biggest benefits of online workouts is the convenience. There are no traffic jams, no petrol costs, and no waiting around for machines at the gym. You can work out from the comfort of your own home and save so much precious time — time you can spend on things that truly matter. And if you exercise first thing in the morning, it’s the perfect way to start your day. Movement releases those feel-good hormonesendorphins — and boosts serotonin, the motivation hormone. You’ll have more energy, feel more positive, and set yourself up for a productive day ahead.

To keep things interesting, I love mixing up my sessions. My personal favourite is weight training, which I incorporate into three classes each week:

•💪 Sit and Sculpt on Monday

•🏋️‍♀️ Weights and Conditioning on Wednesday

•🔥 Bootcamp on Friday

In between, I balance things out with more holistic sessions like Yoga, Fitness Pilates, Stretch & Release, and Mini Ball & Balance Pods. This combination keeps both my body and mind strong, flexible, and engaged.

All of my classes are taught live on Facebook — nothing pre-recorded! You can join me live at 7:30am, or catch up later on the website where all sessions are available on demand.

If you feel intimidated by the gym, struggle with motivation, or simply don’t have time to commute, online workouts really do work. I’ve built a lovely, supportive community of women who lift each other up — many of whom have been with me since the early days of Covid. It’s amazing to think that although we’ve never all met in person, the connection we share is so strong.

If you’re curious about giving it a go, there’s truly something for everyone:

🌟 Beginners: Step to Fitness – a gentle, progressive 30-day program

🔥 Intermediate/Advanced: Sweat & Tone group – for those who love a challenge

🧘‍♀️ Mind-Body Focused: MindBody Studio – for calming, restorative sessions

So, if you’re ready to make fitness part of your everyday life, I’d love to help you get started. Reach out anytime — and let’s make online workouts your new normal too.

WHY I WORK OUT AND HOW TAKING IT ONLINE CHANGED EVERYTHING

Hi, I’m Nina Lancaster, and I’ve been teaching fitness for over 35 years. When Covid hit, I took my classes online and since then I’ve helped hundreds of women feel stronger, fitter and more confident through accessible home workouts.

In my 20s and 30s I exercised mainly to look good, but now in my 50s I work out to feel good—because movement boosts energy, lifts mood and sets me up for a positive, productive day.

I train five times a week and include weight training at least three times, because as we age we naturally lose muscle mass. By lifting weights, we can help slow this process, support everyday strength and maintain independence as we get older. It can also help support bone health, which is so important for long-term wellbeing.

I love working out first thing in the morning—water, herbal tea, a 30-minute online class, protein breakfast and a dog walk—because the habits we build early in the day shape how we feel for the rest of it.

Online workouts truly work when you commit to them and make them part of your routine. If you’d like to feel stronger, energised and supported by a friendly community, send me a message or claim your Free 7-Day Trial on my website. Let’s do this together!
